FOCUS!
Thursday, September 04, 2008 12:13 am

Why oh why? Of all things. Oh how careless.
WHY DIDN'T I BRING MY CAMERA TODAY?

Ok, I dunno why I'm dwelling on it like it's a HUGE issue. HAHAHA. I just thought that we should have taken a photo after our focus group discussion. After all, it did went quite well. Heh.

In my opinion, it was a fruitful experience, all about candy. Let me take you through the whole thing. :D

It was held in Chinatown (the area where most people shop during Chinese New Year). I met Lester and Leon at Chinatown before heading to the location together. When it's about time, we took turns to enter the building which was around the corner. The lift was quite special. LOL. It so happened that I was in the lift with a TJC girl (Wen Yu) who's also going for the focus group. I started with some small talk. Heh. She's friendly.

When I entered the room where the focus group was supposed to be held, one thing caught my eyes. HAHAHA. It's the GIGANTIC mirror! I can almost swear it was staring at me. LOL. I refused to succumb to the temptation of looking at my reflection because I knew there were people observing us from behind those mirrors. Yes, we felt like lab rats, everything was recorded.

You know what? Lester took the lift barely 5 minutes after me and the lady said he was late and refused to let him in. BUT he still got paid $50 just for being 2 minutes late and he was able to go home upon collecting the money (and we had to stay for 2 hours to get that amount). LOL.

There were 8 respondents in all, 4 males and 4 females (from RP, SP, TJC, MI and SIM). LOL. We sat around a large oval table which was filled with different types of food! Chicken Pie, pizza, fried food and drinks. LOL. Unfortunately, I ate something before I went, really bloated. Wasted.

The purpose of the focus group was to find out how we associate candy with being energized. There were 2 moderators. They showed us many sets of copy, logo design, packaging and asked us for our views/feelings on each of them. HAHAHA.

Generally, we all had the same views as to what deems as being energetic (the main focus of the candy) and what's totally off. All of them are very vocal people and after spending like 2.5 hours together with them in the same room, we left the place not as stangers but as friends. LOL. $80 sounds good right? It ended around 10pm and I had to travel all the way home by myself~

WE SHOULD HAVE TAKEN A GROUP PHOTO!
Argh.

If the candy really makes it to the stores, it feels so good to have played a part in the research process. Heh.

Yes, definitely an eye opener. :)

XOXO, SMK
