Today's meeting in church was so different! I like.
It's practically a session on law, yes civil law. A little on feature writing too because we kinda covered that article/case/issue before. I love law but just can't seem to score well in it. Oh well.

The defense lawyer for the trial, Jimmy Yim, was there to go through the entire case with us. All the evidences and the loopholes in the plaintiff's case and also the statement given by both parties which depicted a contrasting picture of what happened that fateful day. There was a lot of drama involved in the trial and mind games too. It felt as if we were in the courtroom itself for the trial.
Then he also shared about how the defendant attacked the plaintiff's case by looking at the nitty-gritty details. The case is like almost 1 year old but the judgment is not out yet. So who's the guilty party? If you cross examine the evidences and arguments, it's evident where this is heading to.
The oral submission deadline for the lawyers on both sides is due on the 29th September. Most probably the case will close in early 2009.
It was an enriching session, I really enjoyed it. It felt oh so real partly because the renowned lawyer of that case itself was sharing it with us.
