The beautiful sea. The huge battleships. A submarine. Men in uniform. Guns. Security checks.

We were taken to a secluded area in the eastern part of Singapore, Changi Naval base. Our job for the day was to check out the ship on which we will be filming during the September holidays.

It was quite a long drive before we reached the naval base. Parking space was quite hard to find, so Mr Ong parked illegally for a while. HAHAHAHA. We met Ms Kwa, Amanda, Leon and Gary there.

All of us gathered under a tent and Gary Tan suddenly pushed me to the front and I almost screamed! Right in front of me was a worm dangling from a thread-like thing. LOL. It was wriggling! Really gross. LOL.

Then we had to surrender our camera phones and any other recording devices and exchanged our ICs for a pass each. Needless to say, there were security checks. Although, it's quite troublesome and time consuming, I'm actually impressed that they are not complacent in these little things.

Again, we had to drive further in and this time I saw gigantic war machines ahead of me. I was momentarily stunned. LOL. Some of them are really HUGE! We only had the chance to see the top part of a submarine though.

I thought to myself, "I'm actually going on board one of Singapore's battleships! Coolxz, like how many people get to do that?" HAHAHA

So our escort brought the 9 of us on board the RSS Intrepid, one of the biggest battleship (aka frigate) which uses stealth technology.

The RSS Intrepid
We had an approximately 1 hour tour on the frigate and Major Teo brought us around. We were climbing the stairs to the different decks, checking out the bunks, control rooms, the bridge (area from which the ship can be commanded) and of course the galley (it's the kitchen. LOL). We saw torpedoes too! Cool stuff.

Guess what? Of the 71 crews on board, only 3 are females! HAHAHA. Oh as usual, we got to take photos! Unfortunately, we couldn't bring our cameras in so they had to get their own people to help us and the photos have to be screened first before they can be sent to us. There's like a lot of confidential stuff. LOL.

After that, Ms Kwa drove Aaron, Leon, Gary, Amanda and me to Changi Village for lunch. LOL. We had Nasi Lemak and it was on Ms Kwa! Thank you so much :)

Seriously, today I've got like 2 bad encounters with creepy crawlies! *Shudders at the thought of it* They ought to be exterminated from the face of the Earth! HAHA. Ok, kidding.

Anyway, while queuing up for lunch, Amanda who was standing beside me, screamed, followed my Ms Kwa. LOL. Everyone was like telling me to stay away from them. I personally didn't know what was going on but I just screamed because all eyes were on me! LOL. So embarrassing but yeah. Amanda was like telling me to swipe my shirt because there's a cockroach underneath! OMGOSH! I was really really scared but I did it and the next thing I knew, a huge cockroach came flying out! I think it's about 7cm long? LOL. I was traumatized. Scary! After that I became really paranoid and in my opinion, cockroaches are the most disgusting insects on earth!

Before we left, we took another group photo. HAHAHAHA. So typical of us. LOL :D

One thing I remembered from this trip
"Everything just press button can already"
HAHAHA. The wonders of technology :)

XOXO, SMK
